Math Blog- Interest Rates Are The Same in Europe

On March 6, 2008 two very big banks of Europe didn't reduce their interest rate. European Central Banks' interest rate is 4% while Bank of Englands' interest rate is 5.25%. European Central Bank and Bank of England didn't reduce the interest rate because they were afraid of inflation. inflation is when there is more money but the money has less value. that happened last year so Jean-Claude Trichet the president of the main banks for the European Union and England which consists twenty-seven nations. only Europe is doing this because the value of the euro is going up and that means more maoney. unlike what is happening in Canada, Bank of Canada has reduced their interest rate by 3.5%. In my opinion, Europe is doing the right thing because if there is an inflation the banks won't lose too much money.

Math Blog- Which President Is Winning?

Presidental Elections are coming up and so right now there are three candidates running, John McCain, Barak Obama, and Hillary Clinton. they each have their own reason to run, but their main reason is to be president of the United States. McCain is the only republic candidate and is winning with 48% of the votes so far. Meanwhile, Obama has 48% of voters and Clinton has 44%of the votes. not everyone has voted yet so when adding the percents of the democratic it won't be 100%. i think voting and percents are important because every vote is counted as one more percent.

Math Blog- Tour de France

Tour de France, this is a race on a bike. The Tour de France begins on July 5th until July 27th and bikers from all round the world come for this great event. This race has twenty-one stages which is a total of 3,500 kilometers. the twenty-one stages contain of: ten flat stages, four mountain stages, four medium stages and two individual timings which are also known as trial stages. This competition is held to see who is the best and fastest biker in the world. I think this competition helps athletes feel better about themselves like Lance Armstrong. He took place in the Tour de France and overcame cancer. This race is also like other race that take place.

Podcasting-Class Response

Podcasting, is like a radio. Podcasts give off information and people can do anything. Recently, my class has been working on a podcast. My partner and I were given a person to do our podcast about. We talked about his achievements as a scientist. Podcasts don't have to be a certain length, but my podcast is only a couple minutes. Most podcasts can be about and anything like reccomending a movie to telling someone about their favortite food. My opinion of podcasts is that they are helpful and anyone can do it. I learned a lot about scientsit from hearing podcast students made and so can you!

Where Will the Polar Bears Go?

We have all heard of global warming, but many people don't think it is real. Global warming has melted a lot of the Artic. So where will the polar bears go? Polar bears might become extinct because because the shortage of land and also, what they depend on the most. Food, pollution has caused all the fish to die so polar bears aren't getting enough of it. My opinion is that, we shouldn't use to much electricity and litter. Littering in oceans and on land are some reasons why animals are dying. They eat wrappers and get sick. Recycling will help save resources that we might not always have. So whatever we do will always effect someone or something.

We all have heard of gobal warming, but some people don't believe it's real. Gobal warming has caused the Artic to melt which has decreased the land for polar bears. polar bears might become extinct because of land shortage and the food they rely on is missing. they eat fish and because the air is becoming polluted the fish are dying. in my opinion is that, people should not waste heat because it always effects something. we should also not litter in the oceans or lands because that could be recycled and we won't have as much pollution.
